AAA FOOTBALL CHEETAHS WIN OPENER
STRONG START BODES WELL FOR UPCOMING YEAR

The Vanier College Men's AAA Football Cheetahs defeated the F.X. Garneau Élans 33-19 in our home opener played on Saturday at Concordia University's football field.

Led by the awesome tandem of new quarterback Jérémi Roch (seen at left) and receiver Vincent Cléroux who connected for an amazing 4 touchdown passes, the Cheetahs had no trouble handling the Élans from Québec City.

The victory avenged a loss to the Élans in last year's Bol d'Or semi-finals which dashed our hopes for a possible third championship in a row. Another offensive star of Saturday's game was Michael Harrington who hauled in a whopping 8 passes for 130 yards.

Defensively, the Cheetahs were led by Byron Archambault who contributed 24 tackles, 12 unassisted, 10 assisted and 2 for a loss (11 yards). QB Jérémi Roch was 27/43 in the passing department for a total of 358 yards and 4 TDs. Click for full game stats.
