Last year's national championship winning team

Our defending Provincial and National Champion women’s team got the year off to a good start, winning the inaugural McGill Women’s Collegial AAA Tournament this past weekend. In their first game, they beat Eastern Commerca from Ontario 95-52. Their top scorer was Anneth Him Lazarenko with 23 points. They next beat St. Mary’s from Ontario 94-49. Anneth was once again the top scorer with 21 points.

Marie-Eve Martin and Anne Marie Prophete added 16 points each. In the tournament semifinal, our women beat league opponent Champlain St. Lawrence 78-62.

In the final, they defeated league rival Ste. Foy by the score of 77-68 to take the title. Their top scorers were Marie-Eve with 20 points, Anneth with 19, Arianne Duchesne with 12 and Anne Marie with 10. Arianne was named to the tournament all-star team and Anneth was named tournament MVP.
