CHEETAHS COLLECT FOOTBALL AWARDS
Honours continue to pile up for our Bol d'Or champions

The following is an excerpt from an article by John Meagher, The Gazette, published January 18, 2007.

Nine Vanier Cheetahs were named to the 2006 CEGEP triple-A all-star team last week, including seven on the league's offensive dream team.

Liam Mahoney of Lachine was named the league's top quarterback, while two of his favourite receivers, West Islanders Frank Bruno and Michael Alfonso, also earned all-star selections.

Vanier linemen Daryl Rankin, Mohammed Petrus and Anthony Barrette received all-star nods.

Barrette was also was named the top offensive lineman.

Defensive end Ameet Pall and defensive back Samael Lavaud were named all-stars. Both are North Shore football products.

Pall, a Pierrefonds resident, was also selected the league's best defensive player.

Coaching staff of the year award went to Vanier's crew headed by Peter Chryssomalis.

Coaching assistants are Grant Allan, Luc Pelland, Yannick Clement, Kevin Goddard, Ron Aboud, Wesley Burgess and Evans Dacoulis.

The Cheetahs also received a team sportsmanship award, and Matthew Norman won Vanier's student-athlete award.
