The FQSE (Fédération québecoise du sport étudiant)
recently announced the AAA Men's Football All-Star team which included eight
Cheetahs! As well, ARSCIM, the organization responsible for collegial sport
for the island of Montreal, has announced five of their city All-Star teams.
Read on for info on Vanier Cheetah athletes picked for this honour in Men's
and Women's AA Soccer, Men's and Women's AA Rugby and in Women's Flag Football.

Men's AAA
Football
No fewer than eight
members of the Vanier AAA Men's Football Cheetahs were named to the league
All-star team in an announcement made by the FQSE.
This year, the Football Cheetahs made it all the way to the provincial
final Bol d'Or game which was won eventually by the undefeated Vieux-Montréal
Spartiates. Those selected to the team were:
Offensive All-Stars
Anthony Barrette, Frank Bruno, Cory Watson, Jerome
Miller and Louis Blais.
Defensive All-Stars
Phil Mckelvey, Chris Burnett and Ian Mitchell-Dorcine.
As well, Cory Watson
won the special honour of being named Special Teams Player of the Year.

Finally, congratulations to
team member Laurent Kone, voted one of the top four football Student-Athletes
from Montreal.

Women's
AA Soccer
Three
members of the Vanier Lady Soccer Cheetahs were named to the All-star
team in an announcement made by ARSCIM.
Congratulations go out to Sarah
Lucier Boisvert, (who was also selected as a member of the ARSCIM
Flag Football All-star team) Kim Fordham and Sara Colella for
this well-deserved honour that does us all proud.
The Lady Soccer Cheetahs made
it all the way to the league semi-finals this year after losing only two
games all year in regular league action.

AA Soccer
ARSCIM announced the selection of Vanier
team captain Kirk Hearns to the Men's Soccer league All-Star team.
Despite having 15 rookies, coach Jason Bresler and his troops had an outstanding
season. The Men's Soccer Cheetahs made it all the way to the semifinals
in the playoffs. Congratulations to Kirk, Coach Bresler and to the entire
team.

Rugby
The Vanier
Women's Rugby Cheetahs had a whopping five team members selected to the
ARSCIM All-star team. This was understandable since, as you probably know,
the team won the League Championships by defeating John Abbott in the
finals on November 6th. Congratulations go out to team members Robin
Hunter, Claudia De Minico, Samantha Nesi, Kelly Rember
and Meghan Whyte as well as to coach Ron Chiasson for a
truly successful season.

Rugby
The Vanier
Men's Rugby Cheetahs also had a very successful season. Though the men
lost a nail-biter to Dawson in the semifinals, they did finish in first
place in their division. As well, both Vanier men and women won
the leagues Éthique Sportive awards for displaying the best
sportsmanship in the rugby league this year. Congratulations to team members
Shane McNaughton, Derrick Boyce and Paul Timperley
for their All-star selection.

Three members of the Vanier Flag Football Cheetahs were named
to the All-star team in an announcement made by ARSCIM,
the organization responsible for Collegial Sport on the island of Montreal.
