Alex
Gravel played for the Vanier College Lady Basketball Cheetahs
from 1996-1998. After a highlight- filled stay at Vanier she
went on to an extremely successful stay at UTPA (University
of Texas Pan-American) where
she now enjoys the unique honour of having just broken the
school's all-time scoring record!

In April 2003, Alex was named first team All-Independent for the
2002-2003 season. The winners were chosen by head coaches and sports

Gravel's accomplishments with the University of Texas Pan-American
Broncs:
--Named first team All-Independant for the 2002-2003
season.
--Breaks UTPA all-time scoring record during a 19 point game in Febrary
2003.
--Named to the Athletic Directors Honor Roll, earned Deans
List second honors and was a member
of the Bronc Pride 3.0 Club.
--The all-time leader in three-point field goals for the UTPA Lady Broncs.amed

All-Independent during the 2000-2001 season, an honor she
received for the second year in a row.
--Ranked second in scoring, averaging 13.1 points per game.
-- Led the team with 65 three-point field goals.
-- Paced UTPA in scoring eight times last season.
--Scored a career-high 30 points in victory against Loyola of Chicago
last season---.Scored in double
figures in 19 of 28 games.
--Holds school record with 183 three-pointers.
--Averaging more than 11 points a game during her three-year career at
UTPA.
--Finished the 1999-2000 season ranked
11th among all NCAA Division I players in three-point field
goals per game, averaging 2.8 treys per game as
a sophomore.
--Named second team All-Independent.
--Honored as National Independent Player of the Week.
--Made nine three-point field goals against Southwest Texas State,
which was the second highest
total in the nation in a single game all season.
--Scored in double figures in 20 of 28 games.
--Scored 20 or more points on four occasions.
--Ranked 30th in the nation in three-point field goals per game,
averaging 2.4 per contest.
--Fourth in scoring at 8.4 points per game,
during the 1998-99 season as a freshman.
--Ranked third among Lady Broncs with 42 three-point field goals.
--Led UTPA in scoring five times.
--Made 83.3 per cent of her free throw attempts.
Alex Gravel's accomplishments with the
Vanier Lady Basketball Cheetahs:
--Was a first team Provincial All-Star
and led Vanier in scoring and rebounding with 14.5 points and
7.8 rebounds per game.
--Led her league by making 37.4 per cent of her shots from three-point
range.
--Named to the All-Tournament team at the Pre-Season Conference
Tournament.
--Named Most Valuable Player of the Quebec Provincial All-Star
Game.
--Member of the Quebec Provincial Team that finished fourth at
the Canada Games for three
consecutive summers.
