The Vanier Womens flag football team ended the 2004 season with a 38-13 win over Brébeuf on Saturday, October 23rd. The Cheetahs ended the season with a 4-5-1 record. Scoring TDs for the Cheetahs were Shaunagh Howard with 2 , Elsye Fournier with 2 , and Sarah Lucier-Boisvert with 1. Coach Yuen and coach Neill were pleased with the team effort throughout the whole season. Both coaches would like to thank the Athletics Department , the athletic therapists and the parents for their support this season. Also kudos to Adriana Hamelin, Sandra Evangelista, and tri-captain Erika Perron Mclean who played their last games as Cheetahs , we liked to wish good luck and thanks for a memorable season . Thank you from Rick Yuen and Tery Neill. Also thank you to Denis Lafontaine the Athletics web coordinator for his continued support of the Cheetahs.

The team ended their 4 game losing streak with an 18-18 tie against Joliette on Wednesday, October 13th. Scoring touchdowns for the Cheetahs were Elyse Fournier, Adriana Hamelin and Koula Tichas. Coaches Rick Yuen and Terry Neill were pleased with the effort snd hustle of their squad. The lady flagsters play their final game against Brebeuf at Vanier on Saturday October 23 at 11:00 am. Hope to see you there.

On Friday, October 8th, we were beaten by Montmorency 7-6. Scoring our touchdown was Adriana Hamelin.

We lost 32-13 to Bois du Boulogne on Sunday, October 3rd. Scoring TD's for the Cheetahs were Shaughna Howard, and Nadia Bisson. Robin Hunter added the convert. Despite missing 3 key players, the Lady Cheetahs produced a strong effort. Kudos go out to Erika, Adirana, Robin , Koula, Shaughna, Kate, Meleena and Nadia. Thanks to the parents of Erika, Adriana, Shaughna , Elyse, Sandra and Meleena who are always there to cheer our team whether we win or lose.

At a 2 game tournament held on Sunday, September 26th, the Flag Football Lady Cheetahs played back to back matches against teams from Joliette and Montmorency. We won the first game 27-0 against Joliette. Scoring TD's were Elsye Fournier with 2 , Sandra Evangelista and Koula Trichas with one each. However, we lost the 2nd game to a strong team from Montmorency by the score of 13-7. Scoring our only touchdown was Sandra Evangelista. Erica Perron Mclean tallied the convert.

All in all, I was proud of all the girls hustle and effort on Sunday. Our next game was at home on Wednesday, September 29th vs Vieux Montréal. Unfortunately, we lost by the score of 24-13. TD's were scored for us by Elyse Fournier and Meleena Lombardi.

Team members Elyse Fournier, Sarah Lucier-Boisvert and Erika Perron-Mclean along with Coach Rick Yuen were selected to the league all-star team announced on the ARSCIM website on Nov 24th.
