   DRANADIA ROC REAPS SEVERAL MAJOR AWARDS
AT SEASON'S END THEN SIGNS WITH FLORIDA STATE

It was just announced that AAA Women's Basketball star Nadia Roc has been signed to play with Florida State University in September. See the story from the Seminole website. As well, at the Awards Banquet held the evening of Saturday March 5th during the Provincial playoffs, she was named a first team all-star, an All-Canadian and winner of the Al Silverman award as Player of the Year in Quebec. Dranadia is the youngest player ever to be named to the Canadian National Team.

Previously on March 3rd, the CCAA announced Nadia's selection as one of their Basketball Athletes of the Month for February. The CCAA Athlete of the Month program recognizes student-athletes for their outstanding event performance and athletic accomplishments during that month.

Awards are presented to one male and one female student-athlete in each of the five conferences participating in the CCAA Basketball. The following was taken from the CCAA Press Release:

"A 3rd year student in Social Sciences, Dranadia (Nadia) Roc is a guard with the Vanier College Cheetahs. A proven leader for the Cheetahs, Nadia recently recorded game totals of 23 pts against Sherbrooke, 21 pts against Montmorency and 20 pts against Sherbrooke. Her skills and talent have also earned her a spot on the National Women’s Basketball Team."
