TEXT OF THE SPEECH GIVEN FOR THIS AWARD

The winner of the female athlete of the year received extraordinary recognition this season. She was the team co-captain and leader of her team.

She was also:

FQSE 1st team all-star
FQSE league MVP
CCAA academic All-Canadian
CCAA player of the month for February
CCAA 1st team All-Canadian

And the impressive award of CCAA Player of the Year.

This third year social science student will continue her academic and playing career at McGill University next season.

Please put your hands together for the 2008 FEMALE ATHLETE OF THE YEAR for the second year in a row from the women’s basketball team, MARIE-EVE MARTIN.
