On April 29th, 2008, Vanier College Athletics held their annual Awards Banquet at Buffet Kim Kwok. The best and brightest stars of the year in all varsity sports were celebrated. And what a year it was! Highlights included the AAA Women's Basketball team's repeat win at the Provincial Championships which they won right here at Vanier, as well as their Bronze Medal win at the Nationals in Truro, Nova Scotia. Another BIG story was the AAA Men's Football Provincial "Bol d'Or" Championship title which they took for an amazing second year in a row.

Among the top awards that were distributed were the ones for Female Athlete of the Year given to AAA Women's Basketball star Marie-Ève Martin (seen at left with Athletics coordinator Mireille Béland at her left) as well as the prize for Male Athlete of the Year given to AAA Football Cheetahs star Myles Gibbon (seen at right with Sports Complex Manager Linda Macpherson at his left).

The evening was hosted Donny Insogna (left), "the Voice of the Cheetahs" who served as MC for yet another year. Donny had previously won the 2005 Outstanding Achievement Award for his exceptional work as an announcer for Athletics games and special events. See link.

Donny was ably assisted throughout the presentation ceremonies by Helen Bastos of Athletics (right) who helped with the distribution of the awards.
