ALUMNI DUAL SPORT AWARD
Duraney White accepts his prize from Sam Kay
SPEECH MADE FOR THE PRESENTATION OF THIS AWARD This award was created by Nick Katerinakis, a Vanier alumni, dual sport athlete and one of the members of our National Championship winning basketball team in 1987. Nick is now a successful lawyer living in Toronto and wanted to give something back to the program that he felt he had gained so much from, so he has pledged a $300 annual donation to be awarded to a student athlete who is able to combine playing for two teams while maintaining their academic eligibility. This year's recipient played on two AAA teams and made his presence felt on both of them, being a big contributor to the Bol D'Or champs as well as making some big noise with some huge blocks on the basketball court.
