PALL IS A TOP DEFENSIVE FORCE IN THE FCS

Wofford defensive end Ameet Pall was again praised as a top player for the Wofford Terriers. In an article published in the GoUpstate.com website, they highlight that Ameet led not just his team, but indeed the entire Southern Conference in 2010 with 12.5 sacks and 22.5 tackles for loss. He was also named as the Southern Conference preseason defensive player of the year. Read the announcement.

The article goes on to note that Ameet is already third on Wofford's all-time sack list with 20 and tied for fifth in tackles for loss. He is only the third player in Wofford history to have been on the Buck Buchanan list. The award is given to the top defensive player in the FCS. Read the article.

MORE PRAISE FOR PALL

From May 12, 2011:

Throughout all of the 2009 season, Pall continued to establish himself as a major defensive force, registering 22.5 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks. Wofford is known for bringing in smaller players, so Pall was attracted immediately out of Vanier, arriving on campus in 2008 around 225 pounds. He has gotten bigger and better since arriving in Spartanburg, S.C. Standing 6 feet, 245 pounds, Pall uses his size to his advantage as he often is too fast for opposing left tackles. He gets around the corner quickly. He was highly productive as a freshman in 2008, became a starter in '09 and was dominant last season, collecting 60 tackles with nine quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. was the subject of an article about the top 10 FCS defensive linemen. In January, it was announced that Ameet finished tied for second place in the 2010 Buck Buchanan Award voting. The award is given to the outstanding defensive player in the FCS, presented by The Sports Network. Pall is in an excellent position to win the prestigious award next year. Read the whole story.

Former Vanier Cheetahs Defensive End Ameet Pall has been busy during his stay with the Wofford Terriers. He is in his second season as the starter at right defensive end and came into this campaign with a total of 56 career tackles and 7.5 sacks. He was recently the subject of a very favourable article in the goupstate.com website.

The coaching staff say they are grateful for his tremendous contributions and always tell him that when he returns to Montreal he should send more just like him. Wofford head coach Mike Ayers said, “He’s got tremendous quickness. He’s strong and explosive. Ameet really jumps off the ball. If people don’t hold him, he’s going to a play.”

While with the Cheetahs, Ameet set the CEGEP AAA league record for most quarterback sacks in one season. He also holds the current CEGEP league ALL-TIME sack record. Pall won Defensive Player of the Game honours for the Cheetahs' two consecutive Bol d'Or wins in 2006 and 2007 and was also Player of the Game at the 2007 Junior Championships for Team Canada.
