VANIER CHEETAH FOOTBALL ALUMNI: ATHLETIC ACADEMY FOUNDERS
ARE GIVING BACK SO THAT OTHERS CAN GET THEIR OWN BIG BREAKS

ALUMNI ARE HELPING ASPIRING PROS
June 15, 2009

Former Vanier Cheetahs Football stars Adrian Davis, Shawn Mayne, Kevin Challenger, Jabari Arthur, Jonathan Williams and Blake Butler all made it in the CFL and now they're doing something concrete to help others have the same chance they did. Led by Edmonton Eskimo receiver Jabari Arthur, they've formed a group called The Athletic Academy.

After celebrating his team's Grey Cup win in 2008, Jabari Arthur stayed in Montreal and helped create the company with three other CFLers. The group, which includes Argos defensive lineman Adrian Davis, Alouettes defensive lineman Sean Mayne and Eskimos receiver Kevin Challenger, helps aspiring football players reach the next level. "We worked with young kids who aspire to reach the next level," Arthur said. "We were fortunate enough to get to the U.S. (on scholarships), so we're trying to bring back a piece of what we learned. "We hope to give them an opportunity we weren't shown."
