The current program was completely revised 4 years ago and is centered on instructions in the following areas:
 
  • Architectural projects - cover all phases of architectural projects including building renovations and extensions
  • Computer use - AutoCad, Viz, Photoshop, other software commonly employed in the field
  • Building science - behaviour and properties of construction materials and their application
  • Building systems - structural, mechanical and electrical systems and their integration in buildings
  • Creativity and design, Architectural styles
  • Project management, contract administration and building regulations
 
Special aspects of our program:
 
  • Sound knowledge of computer aided drafting (Autocad )
  • Visits to notable buildings in Montreal and field trips to building sites
  • Guest lecturers by representatives from construction organizations and manufacturers of building products , as well as by professional consultants such as architects and engineers
  • Model making - hands on projects
  • "Stage" after 5th semester - two weeks spent at a firm related to architectural technology
