Alumni Memories
"After Vanier I worked at McGill University in research for about 4 years. I then moved to Halifax where I worked at the National Research Council until I decided to try something new so I took Physical Education at Dalhousie University. I spent 5 yrs at Dalhousie where I played rugby and eventually met my future husband. During my summers in Halifax I worked for Fisheries and Ocean as a technician. I now teach grade 8 immersion students and love my job. I'm happily married with 3 children (a 9-year old and 7 year-old twins). We own a hobby farm where we have horses, Scottish highland cows, chickens, cats, rabbits and a dog. So I'm a busy mom. Vanier was like a second home to me and all my memories are fond ones. Thank You Vanier!"

"After graduating from the Social Science Honors program at Vanier in 1996, I went to McGill University to study Political Science and English Literature. I then went on to further my studies at University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management in the MBA program. I currently work as a Senior Economist for the Ontario Ministry of Finance. I live in Toronto with my Vanier sweetheart, now my wife, Nathalie. We met in Vanier's Introduction to History class."

"Vanier College...I sure miss you! You've prepared me very well for what was ahead of me and made me realize just how much of an interest in languages I had. Ever since I left you, I stayed true to myself and believe I've done pretty well. I have just completed a Bachelor's degree from McGill University in teaching French as a Second Language and I am currently doing a graduate certificate in teaching English as a Second Language at the same establishment. Through all of this, I can say I've met with great people, and have had amazingly great teachers...and this is true for Vanier too. To all of my Vanier teachers, I say thank you for what you have given me - knowledge. I must add a special thanks to the Modern Languages department's teachers for awakening in me the passion of language teaching. I hope one day my students will see in me what I saw in all of you - an unparalleled dedication to teaching and a great love for languages."
